Treasurer’s Report – George Jackson
• Club financials are in good shape.
• Funds are available for needed improvements.
• Membership renewals have been sent and payment is due by January 31st.
House and Grounds
• Video system has been repaired.
• Bulbs.com’s electrician has repaired the leaking lights, and Bulbs.com has given the club 4 replacement bulbs free of charge.
• The lights on paddle court 3 are costing approximated 2X the amount of the new lights combined and should be replaced.
o Question remains as to whether to go back to Bulbs.com, or buy the fixtures and bulbs from them and hire a private electrician to install same.
• There is an electrical short somewhere within the lighting system that needs to be addressed.
o Bob Dunn contacting an electrician to appraise the electrical situation.
• Mike will call Paul Grabow and have Paul contact Bulbs.com for a quote for replacing the lights on court 3 and also to assess electrical problem.
• Need propane. John to look into suppliers.
Social and Competitive Play
• Winter Paddle League has started.
o Basically social play.
• Mike will be organizing a couple of paddle socials to take place sometime in February and/or March.
• Other ideas for future paddle/tennis socials were a club tournament and perhaps member/guest play
Other Business
• Tennis pro, Sean Welcome has presented, via email, that he would like to run a 2 hour tennis camp for children ages 5-12 on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 12-2pm.
• Sean has also asked that his fee structure for member lessons be adjusted to $75 for those interested in taking only 1 or 2 lessons. Members interested in taking 3 or more would pay at a rate of $60 per hour.
• Rose Marie to contact Sean and have him attend the next Board meeting to discuss all of the above in more detail, specifically the camp.
• Brief discussion took place regarding the possibility of going to digital directory as over 90% of the members have computer access. Need to discuss avenues with Andy Bulfer and how to handle those without computer access.
Meeting adjourned at 9pm.
Respectfully submitted,
Kathy Marcotulli, Board Secretary
